Geographic Distribution
This is an experimental page that provides an interesting view of the geographic distribution of publicly traded company headquarters. By default the map displays markers for the Airlines sector of the SigmaInverse Universe. To map a different sector, click on the sector name at the bottom of the map.
Clicking on a marker should display the company name and ticker symbol.
Try zooming in on a particular region of interest. One of my favorites is to zoom in on Silicon valley for the “Electronics & Semi” sector.
The map type can be changed by clicking on the appropriate button in the upper right.
The markers are color coded red if the stock price is down and green is the price is up or there is no change. At this time, the timing of the change is in a state of flux, so the color codes are not necessarily matched with the most recent trading day.
We have not yet mapped all members of the Universe. At this point, we have coordinates for about 90% of the members, which provides a good sense of the distribution for the most of the sectors.
